THE 442 / STRONGER THAN STEEL — FEATURE FILM

On February 19, 1942, Executive Order 9066 was signed and issued by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Over 125,00 people of Japanese descent were forcibly relocated and incarcerated in 75 incarceration camps. Entire families, young and old were deemed a threat to national security.

More than 12,000 Nisei (second-generation Japanese American) volunteered to fight. On March 23, 1943 the Army designated them to the 442nd Regimental Combat Team.

As they fought the enemy, their fearless spirit not only secured victories on the front lines but also shattered stereotypes back home, leaving an enduring legacy of courage, resilience, and a profound impact on the fight against discrimination.

They are the most decorated unit in U.S. military history.
